Bashu Dev Khanal
Basu Dev Khanal is a young activist from Dang District, Mid- Western Region of Nepal. He is working with the vision of organizing and mobilizing the youths to create peaceful and prosperous society through Education, Awareness and Skills Development (Empowerment).
He possess experiences in organizing, coordinating and evaluating different programs, seminars, workshops, conferences, trainings related to social work, entrepreneurship, skills/capacity building, youth empowerment etc. He has worked as a Program Coordinator in Mindkeys (Training and Research Institute) where he planned, designed, organized and evaluated different programs including Seminar on “Economic Policies and Sustainable Development”, Workshop on “Entrepreneurship Development”, Team Building and Leadership trainings. He researched and studied on international affairs and diplomacy while working as a Young Researcher in Youth Foundation Nepal. Besides, he has also contributed as a program planner in Dynamic Youth Nepal.
Mr. Khanal has already worked as an Educational and Career Consultant to students and youths. He has also taught Nepali language and Nepali Culture course to foreigners working in Nepal and English language course to Nepalese students going abroad. He has also worked as a translator in French-Nepalese joint video documentary project “Ready, Willing & Able”. He has provided his voluntary services in various programs and events of different organizations including that of United Nations. His works in helping victims of natural calamities, differently able people; including motivating youths for positive goal were praised highly.
He achieved distinct positions in every level of his study. He has got many awards in academic, sports, social services and other fields. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences from Tribhuvan University as a top student with two awards. He has completed his Master’s Degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from Dept. of Int’l Relations and Diplomacy, TU. Similarly, he has also completed Senior Research Fellowship (2018) under Chinese govt’s Belt and Road Initiative Program from Sichuan University, China. His core areas of research China-Nepal-India trilateralism, track II diplomacy, economic diplomacy, multilateral diplomacy, etc.
He always focuses in the slogan “THINK GLOBALLY, ACT LOCALLY”. His inner heart mission is to be a man of value and works being honest, diligent and tenacious. His ultimate goal in life is to contribute as a social worker, a trainer and an academician to educate, aware and empower people for sustainability that will eventually lead to shape a peaceful and prosperous society.
Ms. Bhagyashree Adhikary
Working with the vision of economic empowerment of women through skills development, Ms. Adhikary has been involved in designing, organizing and coordinating different workshops, trainings and seminars. She was part of the team organizing the seminar on "Economic Policies and Sustainable Development" and "Workshop on Entrepreneurship Development." She was also involved in the field of international affairs and diplomacy through Youth Foundation Nepal and Asian Institute of Diplomacy and International Affairs (AIDIA). Furthermore, she has also worked in collaboration with Youth Thinkers Society (YTS) in distribution of relief to the earthquake victims and worked with Integrity International to reconstruct schools in remote areas of Nepal including Dolakha and Makwanpur. Ms. Adhikary has completed her Master's Degree in Management from Deakin University, Australia. She believes that women can be a force of change and is working with women social entrepreneurs for designing and implementing programs that will allow women to take advantage of economic opportunities available and to help transcend their roles from mere households to social entrepreneurs.
Mr. Kushal Aryal
Mr. Kushal Aryal is from remote hilly place, Galdha VDC of Palpa District. Despite the difficulties he faced due to poor economic status, total darkness due to illiteracy in his family and his physical disability, he became able to rise himself to this position today with his own hard effort, optimism, endurances and struggles. Mr. Aryal has done his Master's Degree in Journalism and also worked as a Media Monitoring officer in Press Council, Nepal. He has many experiences in the field of social work, culture and art, journalism. He has served as a vice- secretary of Youth Red Cross Palpa. Similarly, he also contributed as Vice- Secretary of Rastriya Lok Tatha Dohori Geet Pratisthan, Palpa. Apart from these experiences, he has worked as a Reporter of Radio Rampur Palpa and as a reporter and office manager of newspaper- Palpa Samachar Patra weekly. He believes that Education, Awareness and Skills are the best tools that can uplift the economic status of poor Nepalese families, eliminate the darkness due to superstitions and develop the culture of understanding and tolerance in the society as they did in his case.
Mr. Mahendra Danuwar
Mahendra Danuwar is a young person from underprivileged Danuwar community of Kavre, Nepal. He studied Sociology and Anthropological Studies from Tribhuvan University which further increased the horizon of his knowledge regarding the social structure of the community and its direct and indirect effects in different aspects of human life. Despite his academic excellence from his early age, the prevailing mindset that lower castes people should only follow the decisions of so called high castes people quietly, always fear him to speak in the community. Therefore, he made a resolution from his childhood that he would end that unequal situation in the society where lower castes people are forced to be psychologically suppressed which results in economic and social backwardness in their life. He believes that Education and Empowerment through Skills & Awareness can only bring the deprived communities in the same level to the other communities psychologically, economically and socially.
Mr. Manish Pokhrel
Manish is a young and friendly graduated student holding experiences working with different bilateral organizations and have developed abundant skills in order to work in the social sector. He underpin and respects the society or organization he works for. He enjoy working on his own initiative or in a team. In short, He is a reliable, trustworthy, hard working and eager to learn and support new proposal n order to bring changes in the community. He completed his Master's degree in Project management from New Zealand and also worked in some international social organizations in New Zealand.
Mr. Sijan K.C.
Sijan K.C. is a young scholar from Butwal. He is very dedicated and enthusiastic towards his job. He is working with the vision of mobilizing and decentralizing the youths to create a platform to explore them because “the one who gets more exposure, the dream will be bigger ". After working with HAPPS, he has completed his MBA degree from University of Sunshine Coast, Australia. He has experiences in organizing and coordinating in different programs, events trainings in social issues, personal skills development, empowerment, leadership trainings, communication skills etc. He has also worked with central bank of Nepal, Nepal Rastra Bank. Mr. KC has provided his voluntary services in various programs and events of different organization including of Teach for Nepal.
Ms. Devi Rai
Ms. Devi Rai is a residential bachelor from Kavrepalanchok, has presently been involved on social sectors with spirit to up-throw “Do or Do Not”. The nation becomes totally incapacitate without the involution of youths , she conceives. In addition, every human rights implies the responsibility to elate the patriotism. Professionally she is onto hospitality however she does not dare-say that serving humankind has only a way. Having opine to work for the overall peace and prosperity she is onto HAPPS which she finds a better choice to explore ideas , creativities and so as to spread the knowledge throughout the world. Ms. Rai is a graduate in Environmental Science. She received a scholarship to study at Youth Study Academy, Asian Institute of Technology,Thailand in 2019 to study and research on Energy, Climate Change and Development through Community Renewable Energy.
Ms. Prativa Pradhan
Ms. Prativa Pradhan is a Nepali young social worker. Her aim is to support education sector for schools and children. Previously she has worked as a volunteer in few organizations and worked as a Vice President in Leo Club, Peace Town, Kathmandu.
